What are they?

“Macro” is short for Macronutrient. They fall into three categories, Protein, Carbohydrates (Carbs) and Fats. The standard unit of measure for macros is grams.

Why should I care?

Counting macros helps you to understand where your calories are coming from and how you can better fine-tune your diet. Fats contain nearly twice as many calories as proteins or carbohydrates, so it’s important to understand where you calories are coming from.
